Cenk Matalon holds a Master of Counselling degree and he is a Registered Clinical Counsellor who has offered numerous workshops on Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction through the Crisis Centre and worked with male survivors of sexual abuse at BCSMSSA. He has also facilitated relationship skills (emotional awareness and communication) workshops in Istanbul.
Currently, Cenk offers anger and spirituality workshops at Just Yoga as well as Anger Management and Stress Reduction workshops at YWCA. Alongside his private practise, he also works at Moose Anger Management where he facilitates groups for men.
Cenk was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey with a Jewish background. In 2005, he moved to Canada to pursue higher education in psychology. Later on, he came in touch with Buddhism, Sufism, and Christian mysticism. A meditator for over 10 years, Cenk strives to approach life as a sacred journey. He values diversity and equality and believes in the uniqueness of each individual as something to be celebrated.
Cenk works from an integrative, holistic approach that aims to support his clients' peace of mind, openness of heart, as well as their unique embodiment of true masculine power in the form of courageous determination and clarity of purpose. He believes in the value of emotional awareness as a path to healing, growth, and self-discovery as he helps his clients to both explore and communicate how they feel.
In therapy, Cenk walks alongside his clients as they reclaim the vitality and joy they once felt.
